There are ideas here of hardware and software you may want to try or to abhor – and last time I looked at ICT Online they were describing 20 new applications for the classroom! Do we face the ubiquitous cellphones like Canute, banning their mere presence while blissfully unaware of the texting that is going on under the desk? Or do we embrace them like Gutenberg and invent new ways to teach with them? This is the old debate but with new technology: once we have got used to it, by using it, we will be living and learning in much the same way, won’t we? I mean, isn’t it only called technology when we are not sure how to use it properly?
