Change is an inherent part of a teacher’s role. Every day, there are new challenges; every year, new students, new classes, new texts to discover.
There are those of us who are delighted and refreshed by change, and those of us who would rather not, thanks. As someone who sits firmly in the first camp, I often wonder what I would do in a job where every day felt the same, and this invariably reinforces my love of teaching. As a passionate change aficionado, I am thrilled to present the changes in English in Aotearoa to a community I hold dear, the English teachers of New Zealand.
