NOTES ON THE UNIT
This is a thematic unit to explore purpose, audience, and language in a historical
writing context.
The unit is designed to be accessible to a range of learner abilities with some
suggestions for differentiation in the teacher notes. Teachers are encouraged to
adapt this resource to reflect the ākonga in front of them.
Side Projects are designed to be out-of-class tasks, but there is the potential to
weave them into class time.
